1998 | Intern: Kalafong Academic Hospital in Pretoria |
1999–2001 | Medical Officer at Oudtshoorn Hospital. Passed his Primary examination from the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2001. Received one to one training from local surgeon and mentor Dr Dolf Burhman. Also received training from visiting surgeon from George, Dr Danie Folscher. |
1999 | Completed Courses in: Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) |
2000 | Diploma in child Health from the CMSA. |
2001–2006 | Specialized in General Surgery at the University of the Free state. |
2006 | Became a fellow in Surgery to the College Surgeons of South Africa. FCS(SA) |
2006–2007 | Laparoscopic Fellowship at the Royal Surrey Hospital(UK) at the MATTU. |

Dr Carl Streicher loves spending time with his family (when not working!). His interests are squash, outdoor adventures i.e. kite surfing, camping and hiking.
